Hot Water: Key to Recycling Electronic Components?

Our love means one thing: gadget waste . As new generations , tablets, phones, PCs like appear scene one wonder where ones go. Sure, some recycled, but there cost involved. Realistically much goes in circu cannot be reused unless completely taken apart – which . If ’t be recycled thrown in general trash, go in pollute . I would imagine finding enviro-conscious solutions -waste pace electronics industry itself.

Researchers’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL), partners, a solution help waste issue down . The research was conducted ReUSE (Reuseable, Unzippable, Sustainable Electronics) project, a UK government backed initiative assemblies. Currently UK 2% reused. The group designed a number layers which were able separated in individual parts when submerged water. Result? The components circu were easily removable after water soak % were reusable. Check above how simple NPL made . And who knows, maybe someday be able old electronics confidence, knowing used again – thanks water.
